Sheila Fischman has translated more than 150 Quebec novels from French into English. She has received numerous awards, including the Canada Council Translation Prize twice, the Governor General’s Literary Award for Translation, the Félix-Antoine Savard prize from Columbia University, and the Molson Prize in the Arts. She is a member of the Order of Canada and a chevalière of the Ordre national du Québec. rn
