Colleen Curran is a Montreal playwright, novelist, CBC dramatist, actor, performer, and screenwriter. Her plays have been widely produced across Canada and the United States. Her comedies, which premiered at the Blyth Festival, include Cake-Walk, Moose County, Miss Balmoral of the Bayview, Local Talent, Ceili House, and Villa Eden. Her play Sacred Hearts, which she adapted for CBC Morningside, won an International Gabriel Award. Colleen was Playwright in Residence at Centaur Theatre and her many other plays include True Nature, Ireland’s Own Carmel O’Reilly Tonite!, and Godot at the Coconut Grove. Her comedic novels Something Drastic, Overnight Sensation, and Guests of Chance about Montreal singing waitress Lenore Rutland make up the Lenore Trilogy. Her latest novel Out for Stars was a Finalist for the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour. She has taught playwriting workshops all over North America including the National Theatre School of Canada and QWF.
