Yayo is the pen name of author/illustrator Diego Herrera. Originally from Colombia, he lives in Montreal. His work has been published and exhibited across North America and Europe, garnering local and international awards, including the Charles Biddle Award, the Mr. Christie’s Book Award and two nominations for the Governor General’s Awards for PIKIQ and Le Chasseur d’Arc en Ciel. PIKIQ also won the best picture book award at the Trois-Rivières Book Fair. His work has been published by Macleans, L’actualité, The Globe and Mail, Reader’s Digest, Cromos, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Globe, Les 400 coups, Héritage, Simon & Schuster, Holiday House, Annick Press and Tradewind Books.
