Peter van Wyck is an associate professor and Graduate Program Director of the Media Studies program at Concordia University. His background is broadly interdisciplinary: forestry, ecological science, environmental philosophy, cultural studies and semiotics, and communication theory. He has published widely in the area of environmental cultural studies. His abiding research interests are in the theoretical and practical relations between culture, environment, landscape and memory. His last book, “Signs of Danger” (2004) won the Gertrude J. Robinson Book Prize in 2005.rnrn
