Sherry Olson

Sherry Olson is a professor emerita in the Department of Geography at McGill University and author of “Baltimore: The Building of an American City” (John Hopkins University Press). As a historical geographer, Sherry works at the intersection of economy, culture and environment. Early projects dealt with forest history – pricing water, railways as tree-planters, and traditions of response to risk. More recent projects focus entirely on cities: the creation of environments that advantage some citizens over others.
