David McGimpsey is the author of six collections of poetry, most recently, Asbestos Heights. His previous volume, Li’l Bastard, was named as one of the “Books of the Year” by The Quill and Quire, and was nominated for the Governor General’s Award. Named by the CBC as one of the “Top Ten English language poets in Canada,” he and his work are the subject of the book of essays, Population Me: Essays on David McGimpsey. McGimpsey, who holds a Ph.D. in American Literature, teaches at Concordia University.
