P. Scott Lawrence was born in Granby, Quebec, and educated at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, and Concordia University in Montreal where he received an M.A. in English (creative writing) in 1984. Since then he has taught creative writing workshops at Concordia and worked as a freelance writer for a variety of publications. For a while he was also the small-press columnist for the Montreal Gazette. He books include the story collections Around the Mulberry Tree, and Missing Fred Astaire, winner of the 1994 QSPELL fiction award. He is the editor of Souvenirs: New English Fiction from Quebec (Cormorant Books 1987). He lives in Montreal.
