Marie-Sissi Labrèche was born in Montreal and graduated with a Masters in Creative Writing from Université du Québec. Her first novel, Borderline, was published by Éditions du Boréal in 2000. It has been translated into German, Russian, Greek, Dutch, and now English, and has been adapted as an award-winning film. Her other novels include La Brèche (2002) and La Lune dans un HLM (2006). She was writer for the sitcom Psy malgré moi, has worked as a journalist for Filles d’aujourd’hui, Femmes plus, Clin d’oeil, and the European magazine Lou, and was a singer-songwirter for the alt-rock group Sylph.
