Dorothee Komangapik

Dorothee Komangapik, the author of Ukuaq: A Woman’s Arctic Memoir (2022, Crowe Creations, Ottawa ON), is a retired adult career educator. She lived in Canada’s high Arctic among Inuit from 1974 to 2002 when she moved to Ottawa, Ontario. She has lived in New Richmond, Quebec, on the south Gaspe coast since 2014. She now has time to devote to a non-academic writing life. In the past she has won awards for her poetry and has previously published The Small Household (2012, Crowe Creations, Ottawa ON).
