Anthony Joyette was a painter and writer. He was a founder/editor for KOLA, a literary magazine for Black writers. Alongside his essays and book reviews, his artwork has been displayed in Montreal; Ottawa; Washington, DC; and Lima, Peru. Joyette edited the anthology of poems Vincentian Poets 1950-1980.
