Tass Grivakes was born in Montreal, graduated from McGill Law School in 1957, was admitted to the Bar in 1958, named a Queen’s Counsel in 1974 and practised law for forty-three years with Mackenzie Gervais in Montreal now known as Borden Ladner Gervais, a national law firm with offices in Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. He retired on May 1, 2000 to take up Thoreau’s advice to ‘Rise free from care before the dawn to seek new adventures.’
