Horace I. Goddard was born in Barbados and lived in Canada He wrote poetry (including “The Long Drums”, “The Awakening” and “Song of the Antilles,”) fiction, (“Paradise Revisited,” “Child of the jaguar spirit,”) and literary criticism. For many years, he was the Director of Community Services with the English Montreal School Board.
