Lise Bissonnette’s books Following the Summer, Affairs of Art, and Cruelties were celebrated in both French and English. Following the Summer was a finalist for the Governor General’s Award for fiction in 1992. She was the publisher of Le Devoir for eight years and is now chief executive officer of La Grande Bibliothéque du Québec. She lives in Montreal.
