Sheima Benembarek

Sheima Benembarek is a Moroccan Canadian writer and editor. She has worked as a senior editor at Toronto Life, an events manager for The Walrus Talks series, a business development lead at Corporate Knights, and as an associate editor at Broadview. Currently, she is an editor at Strategy. She writes about social justice, immigrant narratives, and intersectional feminism. Her writing has appeared in the Literary Review of Canada, Maisonneuve, The Walrus, Broadview, and Vogue Arabia. She was a 2020 RBC Taylor Prize Emerging Writer. She is the author of Halal Sex: The Intimate Lives of Muslim Women in North America.
