The Work of Our Hands

The Work Of Our Hands, nominated for the A.M. Klein Prize, collects almost a decade of work, some of it outspokenly feminist, much of it an exploration of the themes introduced in earlier books, including cultural constructions of gender and sexuality in the context of social justice. The book is divided into five sections, “Gross National Product,” “Homely Virtues,” “In The Garden,” “Making Waves,” and “Constructing Gender. It is a “manual of styles” that is notable not only for its cultural criticism but for humour and positive images of women.
