Rue Sainte Famille

Rue Ste. Famille is Charlotte Hussey’s examination of her place in family, among women and men, and in a history marked by various mythologies and psychological impulses–some difficult and some nurturing. It is deceptively simple work, the more so because of the transparency of the surface crafting. In movie terms, the work has flavours of Fellini and Bergman: it is full of the rich pageant of humanity and its foibles, and it is yet austere, controlled and mythic.
