For twenty years, from five to seven each morning, Michael Malus wrote in his journal – the only time he had before his ‘real day’ began as a family doctor working in many different places: rural Quebec, Great Slave Lake with the Dogrib Indians, the Inuit on the Hudson Bay coast and the Apache in New Mexico.
