Louise Pelletier

Lpelletier

Louise Pelletier is an architect by training and an architecture writer by passion. Today she describes herself an ‘artist of place’ and is increasingly interested in the emotions that a constructed space can arouse in the visitor.

Associate designer at the architecture firm Pelletier + Franco, then architectural consultant for a number of Montreal-based firms, Louise has participated in exhibitions in Montréal as well as in Japan, Brazil and Norway, as a curator and designer. She taught at McGill University’s School of Architecture from 1997 to 2006 and was a visiting professor at the architecture schools of Université de Montréal and the University of Oslo. She was the director of the environmental design program at the Université du Québec à Montréal design school, where she has taught since 2006. She has written four scholarly works, and her articles have been published in architecture and design magazines in Canada, the United States and Europe. She is currently working on fiction in architecture.
