Louise Chabalier

Originally from Manitoba and currently a resident of Mascouche, Quebec, Louise Chabalier has worked as an editor for more than 20 years with literary and academic publishers. She has also worked with publishing houses in translating novels, essays, children’s books and historical works.

Since 2005 Louise has teamed up with her sister Claire to translate five novels and an autobiography. In 2008 the Chabalier sisters received the Governor General’s Award for English-to-French translation for Tracey en mille morceaux (The Tracey Fragments by Maureen Medved)
