Sophie Voillot
Sophie Voillot was born in Marseille and grew up in the Montreal area. She studied literature and linguistics and worked for a short while as a screenwriter before focusing on translation. She also has published poems and short stories in various reviews and has authored several literary translations. Voillot was awarded the 2006 Governor General’s Literary Award for her translation of Thomas Wharton’s novel Salamander (French title: Un Jardin de Papier). She lives in Montreal.
