Ranee Lee
Ranee Lee is an established stage performer and artist. A multi-talented performer, she began her professional career as a dancer and evolved toward acting and music. Her 40-year career has taken her from the theatre to the screen, and her singing performances have garnered her numerous awards and nominations, including the Order of Canada for her outstanding contribution to arts and culture. Throughout her career, Lee has written music and lyrics. In the latter part of her musical career, Lee’s family life and her experience as a grandmother influenced her work. “Nana, What Do You Say?” began as a song about her grandchildren. Some ten years later, the song evolved into a children’s book of the same name that she illustrated herself. Although Lee began writing children’s literature in 2001, Nana, What Do You Say: Book One is her first publication.
