Linda Gaboriau
Linda Gaboriau was born in Boston and moved to Montreal in 1963. She has been active in Canadian and Quebecois theatre for over twenty years as a critic, journalist, broadcaster and consultant. Gaboriau’s talent is widely recognized and has won her prestigious awards and nominations. Her critically acclaimed translations of more than fifty plays include the works of some of Quebec’s most prominent writers, such as Michel Tremblay, Michel Marc Bouchard, Daniel Danis and Jean Marc Dalpé. As a literary manager and dramaturge, Gaboriau has held numerous translation residencies and directed many international exchange projects; she currently serves as the director of the Banff International Literary Translation Centre.
Gaboriau won the Governor General’s Award for Translation in 1996. She has been a finalist for the award on five other occasions.
