Erin Moure is a Montreal poet and translator. Her Little Theatres (Anansi, 2005) was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award and won the AM Klein Prize for Poetry. O Cidadán (Anansi, 2002), a troubled yet hopeful consideration of citizenship, was a finalist for the GG. Sheep’s Vigil by a Fervent Person (Anansi, 2001, as Eirin Moure), a translation from the Portuguese of Alberto Caiero/Fernando Pessoa, was a finalist for the Griffin Prize and the Toronto Book Award. Furious (Anansi, 1988) was awarded the Governor General’s Award. Mouré has also translated, with Robert Majzels, Nicole Brossard’s Installations and Museum of Bone and Water, and has translated poems into English from France’s Sébastien Smirou and Christophe Tarkos; Andrés Ajens from Spanish; Chus Pato, Manuel Antonio and Manuel Rivas from Galician; and Emma M from Kat (into French).
