Julie Keith
Julie Keith is both a Canadian and an American. She was born and raised near Chicago and earned a B.A. from Smith College in 1962 and an M.A. from Concordia University in 1989. Keith writes full-time. She is married and has two children and three step-children. She lives in Montreal.
Julie Keith’s stories have already been published in Canadian literary journals, including Canadian Fiction Magazine, Fiddlehead and Event. She has been shortlisted three times for the CBC Literary Contest.
The Jaguar Temple (Nuage Editions, 1995), a collection of stories in which the characters travel through Mexico, Geneva, Boston and Montreal, was short-listed for the 1995 Governor General’s Award for Fiction. Her latest collection is The Devil Out There (Knopf Canada, 1999).
