Filip has had poems and short stories published in several magazines and anthologies. Of Lithuanian descent, he was born in Lubeck, Germany, raised in Montreal, educated at McGill and Concordia Universities, and now teaches at John Abbott College in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. Apart from the two Filip works currently in the Atwatre collection, he is is the author of the book of poetry Backscatter: New & Selected Poems (2001 Guernica Editions Inc.) and the has had work featured in the anthology The Penguin Treasury of Popular Canadian Poems and Songs (edited by John Robert Colombo, 2002 Penguin Canada).
