Benet Davetian is a professor of sociology. His first book, The Seventh Circle (Ronsdale, 1996) received critical acclaim. It won the Canadian Richler Parizeau Prize for the Best Book of 1996, and was also made a finalist for the Hugh McLelland Fiction Prize.
