Louise Fabiani
Louise Fabiani is a poet, naturalist, writer, and visual artist. She has a B.Sc. in Biology from McGill University. For her Master’s in Environmental Studies (York University), she submitted an environmental novel as an example of fiction as a means of social change. Over the years, she has earned money by tending Giant African snails for a neurobiologist, writing propaganda for Environment Canada, copyediting The Journal of Urology, reviewing science books for the Gazette and other periodicals, turning schoolchildren on to nature, and assisting an economist at a trinational environmental organization. Her first book of poetry, The Green Alembic, came out in 1999. Since that failed to save the planet, she’s been putting more effort into writing fiction.
