Nalini Warriar was born in Kerala, India on 2nd September 1954 and has lived in Heidelberg, Germany and Strasbourg, France. She is a cancer researcher and a biotech consultant who is fluent in German and French. Her series of linked stories, Blues from the Malabar Coast, won the McAuslan First Book Award in 2002. A proud Canadian since 1986, she has conducted writing workshops and also writes book reviews for the Montreal Gazette. She wrote the Quebec City chapter in Write Across Canada published by Nightwood Editions. Nineteen writers from all Canadian provinces participated in this chain novel. Her first novel, The Enemy Within, was published by TSAR Publications in October 2005. She lives in Quebec City.
