Nalini Warriar was born in Kerala, India, and has lived in Heidelberg, Germany, and Strasbourg, France. She is a cancer researcher and a biotech consultant who is fluent in German and French. Her series of linked stories, Blues from the Malabar Coast, won the McAuslan First Book Award in 2002. A proud Canadian since 1986, she has conducted writing workshops and also writes book reviews for the Montreal Gazette. She wrote the Quebec City chapter in Write Across Canada published by Nightwood Editions. She lives in Quebec City.
