Since first publishing poetry in 1971, Gerry Shikatani has authored several books of poetry and a collection of stories. He is also a text-sound performance artist. For over two decades he has also been a freelance broadcaster for CBC Radio and writer for magazines across Canada, specializing in gastronomy, travel and sports. He has been a restaurant critic for over twenty years. Recent work includes poems set in Spain, and as Canada’s leading authority on Spanish food, a cookbook on Spanish cuisine. Born in Toronto, Gerry Shikatani has lived in Montreal and currently divides his time between Toronto and Paris, France.
