Marci Denesiuk
Marci Denesiuk’s collection of short stories, The Far Away Home, was published by NeWest Press in 2005 and she is currently working on her first novel. The Quebec Writers’ Federation named The Far Away Home co-winner of its McAuslan First Book Award 2005, with jurors calling it “beautifully written, by understatement and indirection creating powerful moments of recognition.” In addition to writing, Marci develops performances based on her stories and has also produced a claymation film to accompany the reading of her story “Two Feet in Texas.” She has her M.A. in Creative Writing from Concordia University and has worked as a photographer and a journalist, as well as having taught composition courses at Concordia, creative writing at Seneca College and children’s literature at UQAM.
