Penny Cousineau-Levine is professor of Art History and Theory and chair of the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa. She is an art writer and theoretician with a particular interest in photography and women`s art. Her book Faking Death: Canadian Art Photography and the Canadian Imagination was recently published by McGill-Queen`s University Press. Her writing has also appeared in Afterimage, Canadian Art, Parachute and other art journals, and in numerous exhibition catalogues.
