Lise Bissonnette’s books Following the Summer and Affairs of Art and Cruelties were celebrated in both French and English. The former was a finalist fo the Governor General’s Award for fiction in 1992. She was the publisher of the influential Montreal newspaper Le Devoir for eight years and is now chief executive officer of La Grande Biblioth�que du Qu�bec. She lives in Montreal.
