Robert Astle

Astle

Writer, director, teacher, producer and actor Robert Astle was born in Alberta in 1955. His solo plays Heart of a Dog and The Hats of Mr. Zenobe have been produced and performed in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Astle moved to Montreal in 1998 to teach at the National Theatre School of Canada and Concordia University’s Department of Theatre. Astle is the author of Theatre Without Borders, which profiles performance artists from Quebec and the rest of Canada, published by Signature Editions in 2002. Another of his solo plays, The Piano Tuner, premiered in Montreal in 2004, and was also published by Signature Editions.
