Ken Victor
Ken Victor moved to Canada full-time from the States in 1990 after spending many summers guiding canoe trips in Northwestern Ontario. His poetry has appeared in literary journals in both Canada and the U.S. and received a National Magazine Award. We Were Like Everyone Else, his first collection, was characterized by the Montreal Review of Books as exposing ugly realities with grace and intelligence. Ken also writes non-fiction commentary about Canadian culture and politics from the perspective of an American-Canadian—his articles have appeared in newspapers across the country and in several anthologies. His essay critiquing Quebec’s Bill C-21 will be appearing in the Queens Quarterly this fall.
