Alex Manley


Alex Manley was born in Montreal in 1988 and has lived there ever since. In 2013, he graduated from the creative writing program at Concordia University, where he was an editor at the award-winning The Link student newspaper for three years; he currently works full-time as an editor. His essays, fiction and poetry have appeared in numerous print and online publications, including Shabby Doll House, Everyday Genius, Banango Street, Electric Cereal, Powder Keg, HTMLGiant, The Fanzine, Reader’s Digest and Maisonneuve magazine. He was the winner of the 2012 Irving Layton Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for a 2013 John H. MacDonald Journalism Award for Graphic Design/Illustration, as well as the 2016 Metatron Prize. We Are All Just Animals & Plants is his debut poetry collection. He is left-handed.
